While doing some reading for lab I stumbled upon some humorous statements…

It is provocative that downstream from Drosophila segmentation genes, many of which encode homeobox proteins or other transcription factors, are the cell-cell signaling genes such as dpp and hegdgehog that may define segmental boundaries.

It is tantalizing that the vulval equivalence group, P3 to P8, is also defined by HOM-C genes and may define a similar signaling domain.

–Ruvkin 1997

I just really don’t find either statement provocative or tantalizing; but then again, maybe I just lack the passion that Gary Ruvkin has for the spatial patterning of the C. elegans nervous system.

Pretty crazy eh? I really want one of these for my room or for my next apartment. It’d be more of a way to lock people in rather than out haha.

So yea, watching Iron Man this weekend with my cousins, the best commercial advertisement to become an engineer ever (while getting womenz), motivated me to share some cool designs that I’ve been periodically checking out for some time now. I stumbeld upon Kanye West’s blog randomly one day and now I find myself perusing it every once and a while to see all the cool design stuff that he posts up along with architecture and what not. That being said, I thought I’d share some of the links. That Yanko design place has some sick stuff!
